Friday 04/28/17 Ride

Fellow Riders,
  • I think I just might putt on over to the Cupboard Café in Dillard, GA for some lunch.  If you would like to join me let’s plan to leave the Key Mart parking area about 10:30 AM this Friday.  Hope you can make it.    Dan

  • The skies were overcast and a little ominous looking when eight riders arrived at the Key Mart parking area for a ride.  Coming along to join Dan were Len, Rob, Russ, me, first time rider Bob D. (welcome), Terry, and regular sweep OG Bob (yes, even with warm weather, the orange gloves were on).  As always, Dan had the Garmin working hard to find an adventurous route to Dillard.  We made our way up Hwy 28 and took off on Hwy 107 as a bit of a surprise, only to go a few miles and make a left onto a road that didn't even register on Russ's GPS, - Village Creek Road.  We continued on to other familiar roads and the skies turned briefly turned blue as we arrived at The Cupboard.  Thanks to Sue, our table was ready and waiting.  The service was good and drinks arrived in good time. The food is always good and we did get some of the great hot cheese biscuits.  For the ride home, Dan had another great route that took us back to Clayton by winding through Rabun Gap and around Black Rock Mountain. And, of course, any time you're in Clayton, you can count on a ride on War Woman which is always a blast.  It's great to get back into riding the great winding roads again.  The temps continued to go up as we made our way home and the skies were gray again.  It was another great day on two wheels.   Steve
