Friday 2/09/2018 Ride

Fellow Riders,

  • It looks like we can get a ride in this Friday before the rain moves in on the weekend.  I want to head to The Hungry Drover in Travelers Rest.  It should be a little warmer than the past couple of weeks.  I plan to leave the Key Mart parking area at 10:30, if you want to make the ride.  Hope to see you there.     Steve
  • Warmer temperatures and a lot of sunshine brought out a dozen riders to try out The Hungry Drover.  With this many riders, a few of us weren't sure we could all fit in the restaurant, but they had plenty of room and accommodated us quite well.  The riders joining me were Dan, Len, Russ, Pat, Bill (Full Throttle Magazine (check out page 52)), Doug, Gary, Terry, Denny, Steve D. and Ed. We made our way over to the Travelers Rest/Tigerville area on familiar roads and a couple of new ones as we enjoyed the sunny skies.  At one point we got behind a truck that looked like it was from a Wes Craven movie - an old flat bed truck moving slowly, reeking of gasoline, driving somewhat erratically.  Rather than wait for the chainsaws to appear, we passed him and kept moving.  When we arrived at the restaurant, Pat and Bill were already there.  Unbeknownst to those of us up front, Pat had to jump his battery before leaving Key Mart.  A table was set up and ready for us thanks to a call ahead from Paulette.  The food was quite good there and the servers were friendly, but it did take a while for all 12 of us to get our food.  The sun was still shining brightly as we made our way home, grateful we've had three consecutive weeks of riding.  Also, thanks to OG Bob for an update on his therapy sessions (see below).  Today was another great day on two wheels.    Steve
OG Bob's physical therapist uses some heat
to get that shoulder back to peak performance.
