Friday 7/11/14 Ride

Fellow Riders,

  • Back by popular demand, I think we should try another breakfast ride.  It’s cooler in the morning and afternoon weather looks sketchy.  This Friday I think we should try the Zookeeper Bistro in Cashiers, NC for some breakfast.  It’s said to be good.  I’ll head straight up there for some breakfast, then do a little poking about in the hills on the way back.  Should be back by noon.  If you would like to join me, let’s plan to leave the Key Mart parking area about 8:30 AM this Friday morning.  Hope you can make it.   Dan

The Zookeeper Bistro - Cashiers, NC

  • The early morning breakfast temptation brought out a dozen riders.  Only eleven made the trip to breakfast as Bill was only there to hand out copies of the latest U. S. Rider News.  The remaining riders included Dan, Lesley, Len, Bob, Rob, Russ, Jim (Wing), me, Joe, Bob, and Ed.  Dan took us on the direct route - 130 to Wigington to 107.  The temps were pleasantly cool as we made our way up to Cashiers.  Zookeepers had been alerted by Sue that 11 bikers were on their way and they had a section set up for us.  Joe was determined to help the server who asked him if he was looking for a summer job, and then took the menus away from him.  The food was great, and at least one rider was chose the very sweet looking waffle with strawberries and lots of whipped cream.  Some of the riders departed for home right after breakfast and Dan led the rest of us around Thorpe Reservoir on some very scenic and curvy roads.  We arrived home just after noon.  It was another great day on two wheels.   Steve
