Friday 2/13/15 Ride

Fellow Riders,

  • For crying out loud!!!  I thought we paid our dues to Mother Nature.  Apparently Not – really cold this Friday.  No rain though so I’m going for a ride, at least a little one.  I’m just going to scoot on over to Puerto Nuevo Restaurant in West Union and try not to freeze getting there.  If you’re cold blooded or silly enough to join me, let’s plan to leave the Key Mart parking area about 11:00 AM.  Brrr!!!     Dan

  • It's amazing to see just how many crazy serious motorcyclists there are on such a cold day.  Even with some decent sun, the temperature was around 34 when Dan led the group of eight on a not so long or twisted ride to Puerto Nuevo, in West Union.  Riding, and probably freezing, along with Dan  were Len, Russ, Rob, me, Kevin (love the Moto Guzzi), Charley, and Bob.  Lesley met us at the restaurant.  The route taken today was one of the shortest to get from Key Mart to our destination, but no one was complaining.  Reservation director Sue had made the call and Puerto Nuevo had a table waiting for us.  The food and service is always great there.  You can't beat getting a large burrito that is very filling, for just over 4 bucks.  After lunch, the riders headed off in various directions.  Rob, Len, and I did not get sufficiently cold on the ride to lunch, so Rob led us on a ride that took us toward Westminster, via several winding roads off of Highway 76.  By the time we got back, I was definitely starting to feel the cold seeping into my boots.  Although cold, the sun helped make it another great day on two wheels.  Maybe Mother Nature will come through with a warm day, but it looks like it may be a few weeks away.   Steve
Yum, Yum!!!
