Friday 3/29/13 Ride
Fellow Riders,
- Dan will not be available to ride this weekend. Those still wishing to ride should meet at the Key Mart parking area about 10:30 AM and pick a destination at that time. Ride safe and have a Happy Easter. Dan
- Today there were six riders ready to go at the Key Mart parking area - Bob, Leslie, Larry, Russ, Mel, and me. It was a little cool, but the sun was shining. After some discussion of possible destinations, Bob suggested the WC, located between Toccoa and Clarkesville in Georgia. The skies began to turn grey as we headed into Georgia. As it turned out, this establishment was no longer in business, and I believe it was the "MC" and not the "WC" Kountry Kitchen (see pic below). No matter. Bob led us into Clarkesville for lunch at The Attic. This turned out to be a great choice. When the server was asked what was recommended, she said their Philly Steak. Bob proceeded to order one, but redesigned the sandwich into a Philly Steak Hoagie. The food was great, especially the roasted red pepper soup. After lunch, Mel took the more direct route back and Bob led the rest of us on a very interesting ride around Lake Burton, but we didn't see Julia Roberts. Although the skies were totally grey by now, it was another great day on two wheels. Steve (I always enjoy Dan writing in third person style)
